So, A buddy of mine recently became a tattoo artist, and he did a tribal for me.
The actual design looked great on paper, but it went downhill after he broke out the gun. He used the trace paper, yet still zig-zagged, and basically F`d the lines up pretty bad.
And the design was supposed to be " symmetrical" but it`s not.
Anyway, I never bad mouthed his work to him, i had just said " I don`t like the lines" to someone, they told him, he called me being a jackass yelling and screaming about me bad mouthing his work. And he`s mad that i never came back for him to color it in.
What i`m wondering is, do you guys think another artist could do another tribal or something to cover it? Or should i maybe look into laser removal?
Here is a picture. So, is it coverable?

My hubby does tattoos and I have some experience as he has many and I also have them. The outline of the tribal is thick. He used to big of a needle. What is good is its just a black outline for the tribal and it can be re outlined and colored in ,in black if you wanted. If you want any other color that is when the outline becomes a prob. But black shouldnt be a issue. Also the tattoo removal thing I have seen some and do not know if technology changed but normally once its removed you can see see the the tattoo its just skin color and its painful I heard.
I would ask around at some tattoo places get some opinions even second opinions see what they can do.
Oh my hubby said tell him to put his gun away . He looks like he has the shakes or something as the double lineing. Not to make you feel bad. But that is pretty sad that he did that to you.

Dude that is one of the worst tattoos I`ve ever seen... it looks like he drew it with a pen in the back of a bus.
Find a GOOD shop, go in and ask... look at portfolios, see who is good at tribal and talk to them. Your kinda lucky that he didn`t do a thick line, so you can cover it pretty easy.
Tell you buddy that when you screw up a tattoo like that you don`t get a second chance to fix it

I dont know how you even let him get THAT far into the tattoo without seeing the mess he was creating. Definitely can be worked with by someone who is an actual tattoo artist though..
I dont know too much about tattoo removal.. but because he is not experienced with tattooing the ink may be very deep into your skin in some parts and have scarred badly (for the removal process)
Just remember, black cannot be covered up by any color ink but black.. so that will be your best bet!

Yeah I know it`s a crappy looking thing. But, I couldnt see it well enough when he was actually doing it. After he got done, i was like WTF? And he wanted me to come back for coloring, and I`ve pretty much avoided his calls because i didnt know if i wanted it colored, or at least by him.
I think a good artist may be able to cover it up, it`s just gonna be a pretty big tattoo to really cover it all. but i dont care. i just want this ugly ass crap off my arm.

They might be able to just go over all the lines and make them thicker to cover up the bad spots and make it all even and straight
Oh and remember that tattoo removal is expensive, and it takes a lot more than one procedure, especially on black

Well he was new when he did it, this was his 3rd tat, the other 2 he did on himself.
I`ve seen his recent work, and it looks great. Guess he got the experience in and got a lot better.
But that doesn`t change the fact that his work on me, frankly looks like sh***.
I think the best bet is to have it covered by a new tattoo.
I think the new artist may be able to sorta build off existing lines, and cover the majority of it. Most likely going to be a free hand tat.
