Wonder would the 5.9 be a better tower than a 4.7, If I couldn`t get a Hemi in my price range?

I also had a couple 5.9L 2nd Gen Rams( 97 & 01 ). The 5.9L/360 is pretty much on par with the 4.7L. Power numbers are pretty equal. I never noticed much performance difference between them. A Regular Cab 5.9L may have a slight edge over a QC 4.7L because of the weight savings. A 360 2nd Gen Ram can be modd`ed to up power cheaper.

If its between a 5.9 and 4.7, i would get a 5.9 based solely on longevity. A well maintained 5.9 just keeps going n going. And once it does crap out, punch it to a 408 and keep going again.

That, and there are basically nothing being made for the 4.7 engines.

But, for the 5.9..you can get heads,cams,intakes, pretty much whatever.

uphill i hold it at around 60 65 just pulled the boat tonight

i have a intake on my truck i have found headers for my truck.


why not go with a older ctd

Mainly because i want something newer. The 97-00 Dakota and 98-01 Ram interior is so close to the same, I want something new, ya know?

yea i hear you. what you looking to pay.. i paid 25000 for my truck but i also got it when things were good. i have found on ebay cl you can get a 02-05 cheaper then what i had to pay

I was hoping to find a 02-05 Reg cab, hemi, 4x4 for under 10k.

So far all i`ve found in that price are 4x4 4.7`s, but mostly 2wd 4.7`s.

I really like the 07-09 Silverado`s so I`m gonna go look at those. If I`m gonna finance something, it`s gonna be damn nice.

there are a few HEMI reg cabs 2wds down here for under 10k
