Just wanted to know how much of a difference in sound would there be if I deleted the cat.
Currently I just have a flowmaster 50 series muffler.
thanks

I don`t know about the cat but I do know that with only a cat and no muffler it is extremely loud because that`s what I`m running.

It will sound like a totally new truck.
That`s the same muffler i have on my v6 dakota, and when i took the cat off, it sounded like a 318 at idle VS the puny wimpy tone it had before.

you can either take it off or you can get a magnaflow highflow converter for it cause i had one on my 98 and then i gutted it out and it made no difference in sound at all. if you want a really good sound just wait on doin the cat and when you have the money run true duals on your truck, that`ll give you the best sound out of anything.

But for the time being, removing the cat completely is the best thing.

I saw the Magnaflow cats, but I`m not really sure if I want to spend $100 on a catalytic converter. But as soon as I am going to remove the cat all together and move my exhaust tip to a "special" spot.
As far as the electric cut-outs, I do like those but they are all little on the pricey side for an electric. Maybe someday if I ever decide to upgrade the motor
thanks all.
