Howdy all. Newbie here. Discovered these forums while surfing the internet for info. related to my V10`s ticking noise. Trying to determine if it`s a sticky/bad lifter or exhaust manifold leak. Anyway, I drive a `02 2500, fitted with 2" lift, all the factory HD options, tow, camper, plow prep options as well. Owned a `00 2500 Ram prior to this that was one big headache with loads of problems, BUT I didn`t jump ship and stayed with Dodge. This truck`s been pretty good to me and I DRIVE AND WORK THIS TRUCK HARD!! I tolerate plenty of flak from my Dodge hating buddies, but their Chevies aren`t without faults also. Been down that dirt road too many times in the past - no more overrated GM crap for me.

Welcome to DTW! Glad to have you aboard, I see your from Meadville! There are some members up that way.
Definitely know what you mean about not jumping ship, I really like all trucks but my preference is Dodge, I have owned many Dodge vehicles over the years and have never had any problem with any of them. Sure wish Chrysler would get there act together and get rolling like they have done before, I would really hate to see a great car mfg. go down!
You are right though, all brands have there problems, just like Ford with that new 6.0 diesel. That engine has been nothing but headaches for owners ever since they came out with them! Don`t know why they just don`t go by the old saying "If its not broke, don`t fix it!". There 7.3 has been a very good engine for how many years and they have to go and change to a POS engine.

If you didnt fix the tapping noise, try dumping in a quart of mystery marvel oil. You can get it at autozone or anywhere like that. i put that in a car i had and it cleared up the noise quick...
