If you have ever done a body lift you well aware that the top of the fan shroud sits below the top of the radiator. After adding the 3" body lift I wanted to bring the top of the plastic fan shroud to the stock position. After splitting the shroud in two, and adding the req'd filler piece, the top of the fan shroud now sits at the radiators top edge, as it was before the lift.

After the body lift it was apparent that something had to be done to salvage the nerf bars.They sat 3" below the cab and I didn't like the look. The solution was to add to the original brackets, adding a piece of material for the tubes to mount too,and raising the same piece up 3" on the bracket. The tubes sit 3" more forward horizontally and this dosn't appear to deter from the overall appearence.

After raising the fan shroud to take up the 3" lost due to the body lift, I found that the upper rad hose rubbed on the shroud edge. I removed a 5/16 mounting screw for the air conditioning compressor and replaced it with a length of stainless threaded rod of the same thread pitch. Locking it in place with a nylock nut I covered the threaded rod with a piece of metal tube I had laying around.Add a flat washer and a piece of bent galvanized steel for a hose rest, a little paint,cover it with foam backed tape for a cushion and its done. Now the rad hose will not chafe on the edge of the fan shroud.Picture in my Gallery under "Mods"

I also wrapped up the filter element and the transmission gauge sending unit with heat reflective bubble wrap, this helps to keep the header heat from giving me a false reading on the gauge.
