The Monsters rolled into Springfield,
Missouri prepared to do battle on a hot weekend in mid July. Six
of the best were on hand to thrill the crowd with some great side
by side and freestyle action. Home state favorite, Bigfoot, was
sent to battle legends like Samson and Monster Patrol - but also
some rookies such as the Ice Man. The Tough Trucks
COLOR="#1e0346" SIZE="-2">Tm and
Quad racers were also tearin' up the track which was riddled with
tight turns, bumps, and jumps. It was definitely a weekend to
be enjoyed by all. Read on to find out how your favorite truck
finished, and see who came out on top. Be sure to catch the Monster
Truck Thunder Drag series hosted by
Special
Events
when it comes to your area.

Herb Wyman's Bronco was a strong
contender all weekend.

Mike Rosenthal's Peoria, Illinois
based Ford called "Cheaper Than a Wife" had great acceleration,
braking, and turning; allowing him to produce fast times consistently
during the event.

Derek Combs' fiberglass F-150 noses
in hard at the finish line.

The only Tough Truck we've seen in
quite a while that has a funeral home listed as a

sponsor! John Jungeblut's Wild Thing Chevy ran strong in Springfield.

Brandon Conner's Bronco got some
good air during his run.

Dave Harkey was unstoppable during
the three day event as he

took Bigfoot to the winners circle all three times.

ALT="The Iceman" ALIGN="BOTTOM" WIDTH="405" HEIGHT="305">

Steve Macklyn spent the weekend trying
different shock combinations for the Iceman - in this case they
were set a bit too stiff sending the rear end bouncing high after
the truck landed.

Dan Patrick's truck was consistent
all weekend. During freestyle he treated the

crowd to some incredible high speed long jumps.

ALT="Hard Landing" ALIGN="BOTTOM" WIDTH="402" HEIGHT="259">

The right lane was not the lane to
be in as it produced some very hard landings. Bigfoot and the
Executioner learned this the hard way after these landings. They
both stuffed their Tires under the truck! The Executioner even
bent a four-link bar and suffered some fiberglass damage!

Moving on to the finals - Bigfoot
noses out the Black Stallion in some close Round Two action.

Brian Barthel's Monster Patrol was
the wheelie king for the weekend.

None of the other trucks could pull a wheelie like these during
freestyle.
